Obesity is not just an individual condition, it is an intergenerational challenge that begins before birth. This dynamic session, “Two Generations, One Challenge: Confronting Obesity in Pregnancy and Pediatrics,” unites the fields of endocrinology, obstetrics, and pediatrics to address how maternal health profoundly shapes childhood metabolic outcomes. Participants will explore the biological, behavioral, and social mechanisms linking maternal obesity to adverse pregnancy outcomes and long-term pediatric risk. Through case-based discussion and evidence-based insights, the course highlights practical, family-centered strategies to disrupt this cycle especially within underserved populations disproportionately affected by obesity. Emphasis will be placed on culturally sensitive care, overcoming weight stigma, and advancing health equity. Attendees will leave equipped with actionable tools to integrate multidisciplinary approaches that optimize maternal and pediatric well-being across generations.
