Developed each year by a group of expert faculty, the In-Training Exam is a self-assessment tool consisting of 90 questions designed to gauge a fellow's current level of knowledge. The premier in-training exam for endocrinology, results can be used as a benchmark used to guide specific remediation for fellows and indicate where additional learning is needed. The exam questions are written at the expected level of proficiency expected from endocrinology fellows, and cover all topical areas according to the ABIM blueprint for Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. The exam is available for proctoring each year from mid-January to mid-February.
  • Provide endocrine fellows an opportunity for self-assessment throughout training;
  • Identify areas where endocrine fellows require additional training;
  • Provide program directors the opportunity to evaluate their programs annually.
Endocrine Procedures is designed to provide endocrine fellows with the knowledge needed to identify the indications for bone density screening, to accurately interpret and report bone density scans, and to incorporate bone densitometry into clinical practice through review of common clinical scenarios.
Endocrine Procedures is a case-based module is designed to introduce learners to evaluating thyroid nodules. During this course, learners will review how to risk stratify thyroid nodules based on their sonographic features and determine when further evaluation, such as biopsy and molecular testing, is indicated. A sample thyroid ultrasound report template and introductory video on how to conduct a fine needle aspiration is also included.
This Endocrine Procedures module is designed to improve fellows’ competence in using CGM and diabetes technology to manage diabetes. This tool was developed to provide fellows the opportunity to learn more about using and interpreting CGM reports, and offer the chance to demonstrate competence in the interpretation of CGMs. During this course you will review the requirements for CGM, videos explaining how to use diabetes technology and interpret CGM, and then several activities and case-based questions to put your knowledge into practice.
