Every week for four weeks, a cohort of 25 learners will receive an assignment that includes a short lecture where they will take a deep dive into the most recent literature, accompanied by brief pre- and post-tests.

Learners will then come together for a facilitated live discussion on a patient case associated with the on-demand lecture. Learners will be broken into small groups to collectively determine the best course of action, which will then be presented to the larger group for discussion and expert feedback.

Further discussion opportunities with fellow learners and faculty will be available online through a course discussion board.

Learning Objectives:

Following participation in this activity, learners will be able to:

• Discuss the current status of T2D pharmacotherapy management, including guidelines, prescription trends and clinical inertia, and the role of the endocrinologist.
• Evaluate current & emerging medications, with a focus on safety, efficacy, and mechanisms of action of newer drug classes.
• Apply decision-making strategies for therapy optimization when patients present with T2D and/or cardiovascular disease and/or obesity.
