This live Q&A with Bart L. Clarke, MD, and Vafa Tabatabaie, MD, will enhance and promote the materials from the educational program "Life Cycle Considerations in Hypoparathyroidism."Learners will have the opportunity to directly engage and ask questions related to the content with the authors of the program, and dive deeper into the topics.
Topics include:
- Hypoparathyroidism in Adults: Diagnosis, treatment, and complications.
- Hypoparathyroidism in Children: Pediatric considerations and long-term care.
- Hypoparathyroidism and Pregnancy: Management strategies for expectant mothers.
- Hypoparathyroidism and Aging: Long-term care and complications in older adults.
Target Audience
The target audience for this program is endocrinologists who specialize in bone and mineral disorders. The secondary audience is interdisciplinary healthcare providers (HCPs) who provide care throughout the lifecycle for patients with HPT, such as pediatricians, obstetrician-gynecologists, and primary care physicians.
Learning Objectives
Learners will have the opportunity to directly engage faculty, and upon completing this activity, along with Life Cycle Considerations in Hypoparathyroidism, be able to:
- Compare and contrast HPT workup and management in adult and pediatric patients.
- Assess new guidance on HPT management before, during, and after pregnancy.
- Discuss potential long-term complications of HPT and strategies to optimize chronic management.
