Interpreting a Pituitary MRI
Description
This course seeks to introduce learners to the use of imaging to help develop a differential diagnosis of pituitary pathology. The course begins with a short pre-test to gauge your current knowledge level and understanding of pituitary imaging. You will then watch a short video on the basics of reading a pituitary MRI, followed by a longer video reviewing various imaging pathologies and answering case questions. After this video, you will complete a post-test to see how much your knowledge has grown. You will then have access to a suggested reading list if you are interested in learning more.  
Learning Objectives

After completing this module, learners will be able to: 

  • Describe normal anatomy of the pituitary and sella 

  • Identify indications for ordering imaging of the pituitary/sella 

  • Develop a differential diagnosis for abnormalities on pituitary imaging 

  • Identify and describe imaging features on MRI of pituitary gland and sellar region 

  • Recognize imaging and clinical characteristics of some common pituitary pathology
