Endocrine Procedures: Thyroid Ultrasound
Course Description
This case-based module is designed to introduce learners to evaluating thyroid nodules. During this course, learners will review how to risk stratify thyroid nodules based on their sonographic features and determine when further evaluation, such as biopsy and molecular testing, is indicated. A sample thyroid ultrasound report template and introductory video on how to conduct a fine needle aspiration is also included. 
Learning Objectives

Upon successfully completing this course, learners will be able to: 

  • Describe thyroid nodule sonographic features 
  • Determine if a biopsy is indicated based on the nodule’s risk of malignancy
  • Understand the utility of molecular testing in thyroid nodule evaluation
  • Create a comprehensive thyroid ultrasound report
