Upon successful completion of the activities, participants should be better able to:
- Discuss the prevalence, pathophysiology, and progression of osteoporosis and other metabolic bone diseases.
- Recognize and evaluate individuals at risk for bone fractures using appropriate imaging and diagnostic approaches and updated guidelines.
- Discuss methods to Incorporate treatment strategies, including nutrition and exercise intervention, to reduce bone fragility and fracture risk in individuals with metabolic bone disease.
- Devise individualized treatment strategies to manage osteoporosis and metabolic bone diseases that take into consideration predicted outcomes and limitations.
