As you build a Twitter network, a good place to start is looking for accounts belonging to your institution, colleagues, and peers. From your home screen, you can use the search box in the top right to search for relevant names.

Your institution or colleagues already may be following accounts that are of interest to you. You can check out who they follow by visiting their profile page and clicking on the word "following". The number below the word reflects how many accounts the user is following on Twitter.

Once you follow an account, its tweets will show up on your news feed in real time. You can refresh the feed to read new tweets as they are posted.
