Congenital Hypothyroidism PIM: Diagnosis and Management
The Congenital Hypothyroidism PIM: Diagnosis and Management is a web based activity designed to help pediatric endocrinologists improve their care of infants, children and adolescents diagnosed with congenital hypothyroidism. Developed in partnership by the Pediatric Endocrine Society and the Endocrine Society, this online practice improvement activity helps learners assess their care against performance measures based on the AAP, ATA, PES 2006 Update of Newborn Screening and Therapy for Congenital Hypothyroidism and ESPE’s 2014 Consensus Guidelines on Screening, Diagnosis, and Management of Congenital Hypothyroidism.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this educational activity, learners will be able to:
- Evaluate their practice structure and processes to determine the extent to which the systems support the delivery of quality care;
- Compare their practice against performance measures through patient chart review;
- Improve their support of parents/caregivers when treating children with congenital hypothyroidism;
- Develop and implement a self and/or practice wide improvement plan to enhance patient care;
- Analyze their performance after implementing improvements to determine effectiveness of the improvements.
