ESAP 2015

OVERVIEW

The Endocrine Self-Assessment Program (ESAP™) is a self-study curriculum aimed at physicians seeking initial certification or recertification in endocrinology, program directors interested in a testing and training instrument, and clinicians simply wanting a self-assessment and a broad review of endocrinology. ESAP 2015 is available in both print and online formats. It consists of 120 brand-new multiple- choice questions in all areas of endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. There is extensive discussion of each correct answer and references. ESAP is updated annually with new questions. For accessibility for international practitioners, SI units are included.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize clinical manifestations of endocrine and metabolic disorders and select among current options for diagnosis, management, and therapy.
  • Identify risk factors for endocrine and metabolic disorders and develop strategies for prevention.
  • Evaluate endocrine and metabolic manifestations of systemic disorders.
  • Use existing resources pertaining to clinical guidelines and treatment recommendations for endocrine and related metabolic disorders to guide diagnosis and treatment.

The Endocrine Society requires that any discussions of such “off-label” use be based on scientific research that conforms to generally accepted standards of experimental design, data collection, and data analysis. Before recommending or prescribing any therapeutic agent or device, learners should review the complete prescribing information, including indications, contraindications, warnings, precautions, and adverse events.

PRIVACY AND CONFIDENTIALITY STATEMENT
The Endocrine Society will record learner’s personal information as provided on CME evaluations to allow for issuance and tracking of CME certificates. The Endocrine Society may also track aggregate responses to questions in activities and evaluations and use these data to inform the ongoing evaluation and improvement of its CME program. No individual performance data or any other personal information collected from evaluations will be shared with third parties.
